The other thing is that burlesque and erotica are not demeaning or exploitive like pornography.

In my experience women who go see strippers usually either feel intimidated and/or competitive or ashamed and pity for the dancers.

At burlesque shows, the woman usually walk away feeling sexy and inspired. And that makes it all so worth doing.

Although a good question I think the question only stands on the fact that some burlesque performers strip down to pasties ruffle panties, while pornography is generally total nudity, sexual acts, display of women’s and men’s genitalia and to suggest that it is one or the other is overreaching. I believe that burlesque is performance art in the tradition of vaudeville and not just women performing the art of the strip tease. I suppose it is, as in the case of pornography based upon community standards, or better yet you know it when you see it. Having seen a number of burlesque performances in Albuquerque, NM and Dallas, Tx I think it is a lot of thing, not porno.
